There's a particular kind of loneliness that comes from never quite fitting the room you're in. I know it well.
When I lived on acreage - surrounded by land and quiet and the kind of life that looked idyllic from the outside - I felt it. The luxurious things I owned felt somehow wrong there. Too considered. Too much. The way I dressed, the things I loved, the care I put into how everything looked marked me as out of place on a farm.
So I came back to the city. And I brought with me my crystals, my sound bowls, my herb gardens, my deep and genuine belief that objects carry energy and spaces carry intention. And there it was again - that same feeling, just arriving from a different direction. In rooms full of polished people, the quieter, more soulful parts of who I was felt like something to tuck away.
For a long time, I thought the answer was to choose. To pick a side. To be one thing.
I couldn't do it.
And the longer I sat with that discomfort, the more I realised it wasn't a problem that needed to be solved.
It is ok to live between those two worlds. To be someone with genuinely exquisite taste who also burns sage. Someone who wants their home to be beautiful and also to mean something. Someone who has spent years being told - in small ways and large - that those two things don't belong together.
Someone once called me a snippy. It was said in a moment to capture something they found quite contradictory about me - the snob and the hippy, existing in the same person. The luxury items and the crystals. The tailored clothing and the herb garden. The exquisite taste and the grounded soul.
I owned it. Because they were right. That contradiction was not something I wanted to iron out. It was exactly who I am. And if you've found your way here, it's perhaps also who you are.
Snippy is the snobby hippy. Elevated taste with genuine soul. Our brand exists for the people who have always been a little bit of both and refuse to apologise for either. For all who have felt too much of one thing for one room, and too much of another for the next.
Every piece we carry has been chosen because it satisfies both sides of who you are. High standards, and with a soul. We don't believe you should have to sacrifice one for the other.
